We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join us in building the company, and to ensure successful delivery of projects. We are looking for someone with a fun and friendly personality, love for tech, and experience in strategic project management. 

Job Description 

  • Recordkeeping: Responsible for recording all financial transactions related to the agricultural financing program accurately. This includes loans, payments, expenses, and other financial transactions. The bookkeeper should use a reliable accounting system and keep detailed records to provide an accurate financial history of the program. 

  • Bank account management: In-charge of managing the program's bank account. This includes reconciling bank statements, tracking account balances, and ensuring that all deposits and withdrawals are accounted for. The bookkeeper should work closely with program managers to manage cash flow and ensure that there is enough money available to fund loans. 

  • Financial reporting: Should generate financial reports for the program. These reports provide important information about the financial health of the program and help program managers make informed decisions. Financial reports may include income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other financial reports as needed. 

  • Budgeting: Help to develop and manage the program's budget. This includes tracking expenses, forecasting revenue, and making recommendations for program spending. 

  • Loan management: Plays a critical role in managing loans made by the program. This includes tracking loan payments, calculating interest, and ensuring that loans are paid on time. The bookkeeper should work closely with loan officers to manage loan portfolios effectively. 

  • Compliance: Responsible for ensuring that the program's financial practices are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations. This includes managing tax reporting, ensuring that loan documentation is complete, and complying with any other financial regulations that apply to the program. 

Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 

  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance is required, with preference given to those with experience in agricultural lending or financing. 

  • Knowledge of agricultural practices, crops, and livestock is preferred. 

  • Attention to detail is critical for ensuring accurate financial records and reports. 

  • Should have strong organizational skills to manage financial records, loan portfolios, and other documentation related to the program. 

  • Should have strong communication skills to work effectively with loan officers, program managers, and borrowers. 

  • Must be ethical and trustworthy in managing financial transactions and maintaining confidential information. 

  • Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement. 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
